Around twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, producing strong winds reaching 109km/h.

Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in the southern state also faced power outages after Melbourne saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At the height on Sunday, more than 28k power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
